Blind Vice: Which TV Costars Secretly Hate Each Other?

New from Ted yesterday -

Blind Vice: Which TV Costars Secretly Hate Each Other?

Fake à la Ferocity has nothing on wholesome TV and movie actress Trixie Twinkle-Twat, whose new series, Family Values, was renewed recently.
And, trust us, that's saying a whole helluva backstabbing lot.
Trixie's current crime?
Telling her bosses—and, consequently, the world—that she not only adores her famous costar, Vander Van Der Butt, but she wouldn't considering doing anything other than their show, professionally speaking.
When the truth is Trixie, who's got a reputation for sending homemade cookies to people she loathes, will not even look Vander in the eye when they're alone, much less speak to him. She detests him, curses him ever opportunity she can—and the feeling is mutual.
Trix just faked liking him because she knew it would get her a big family boob-tube job.
And it gets even more ironic! Not only did execs approve Trixie and Vander's current cozy show based on the fact they were (supposedly) real-life friends, but also because Ms. Twinkle-Twit's made an entire career out of folks thinking she'd prefer to bake cookies instead of bitch people out like the truck driver she is at heart.
AND IT AIN'T: Nancy Travis and Tim Allen, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn

Top suspects:  Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence, or Christina Applegate & Will Arnett

I'm going with Christina Applegate and Will Arnett for this one. (Although I hate that thought because I've always like C.A., but I guess that's the whole point.) I know this is kinda tacky, but "boob-tube" really stands out to me, even though it's a common expression, and she has been very vocal about fighting breast cancer.

I love this one! Not very scandalous but I love hearing about this stuff.

I was picturing Sofia Vergara and Ed O'Neill from Modern Family when I read this. I just read some interesting guesses on E's comments though. Meissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence (WHOA), some Parenthood people. Someone guessed Will Arnett and Christina Applegate but Ted said this is a show that was renewed. So it's gotta be something on its 2nd season at least.

blurry vice said...

Tiff - but Ted says it's a show that was renewed. Meaning it's not in its first season. Right?

PrincessTiff said...

That's a good point (about being renewed), but I wonder if it was already picked up for a second season? Might be a stretch. I read the Sofia/Ed guess, too, but I've never heard of them even knowing each other before the show.

And I agree about liking this blind. It's kinda refreshing to have one that's really about just being human and not liking someone instead of something so extreme involving drugs or cheating or whatever.

PrincessTiff said...

Nope, I think you're right about ruling out my guess. All I can find is that it is likely to be renewed, but hasn't yet. Back to the drawing boards.

The blind says "...new series, Family Values, renewed recently.". To me that means a new show just picked up for a full season. Renewed can apply to a new show, as they are "renewing" it for a full season order. A lot of articles for new shows due refer to new series as being renewed.

Jacq said...

PS - Tiff... Up All Night was renewed for a full season. I think it's a good guess.

Melisa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence? They always are claiming to be friends...

I like the Melissa & Joey guess. Their show totally hangs on the premise that they like each other.

I've read elsewhere about the Melissa Joan Hart guess based on the idea that she and Joey Lawrence were billed as being longtime friends and that she has recently opened a candy store. Plus, the show is on ABC Family and all of the AIAs are on ABC shows.

Plus, Christina Applegate and Will Arnett have said they didn't know each other before their show.

In my opinion the term "renewed" means for a second season. I thought that when a new show will continue past the 1st 3 episodes or whatever, that it's been "picked up for the rest of the season". At the end of the who season is when it would be "renewed" for a 2nd season. Can't be renewed when it hasn't had an entire season yet I think. They make those decisions closer to the spring right? I don't work in TV but those are my thoughts.

Why does Ted mention Fake a la? Could that be a clue?

Kim said...

Melissa Joan Hart could be Trixie Twinkle-Twat (or Twit? He says both). Not sure about the Fake A La reference, seems odd. He does say "heart" at the end, and says "family" a couple of times, I think ABC Family is a good guess for the network.

Sorry for another post.. but the more I read about this show Melissa and Joey (which I admit I'd never heard of!), this blind has to be about them. The show was just renewed for a second season. MJH said:
“We’d already done a movie together, which will air before the show and we enjoyed doing the movie, we felt the chemistry, the network agreed and the network had a show in place that they wanted to do.” Sounds exactly like what Ted describes: the network (ABC Family) approved the project based on their friendship (and previous working relationship). Sad to think they hate each other. Oh, and she owns Sweet Harts Sweets candy store. Not cookies, but fits with the image Ted describes.

As a child of the 90s, I hate to think of MJH, but the clues do add up. Melissa & Joey's renewal was announced in July and Perez has highlighted two lawsuits against the former teen witch: She's being sued by a former employee of Sweet Harts for wrongful termination and racial profiling as well as by her former talent manager for fraud, breach of oral contract, etc. Sounds like the cards are stacking up against Ms. Hart. :(

As I read this one, I immediately thought of Christina Applegate. I hated thinking that this was her! However, after reading these brilliant guesses, I'm totally on board with the Melissa Joan Hart guess. How could anyone hate Joey Lawrence that much, though? Woah! ; )

This is Melissa and Joey. "Bitch out like the truck driver she is at heart" is a huge clue. Melissa Joan Hart.

The Fake a la reference could be because Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence did a movie together called My Fake Fiancé.

Has anyone else been having trouble reading the E! webpage? It has been freezing up on me and I can't get it to scroll. I don't know if it's a chronic thing or if it's just my computer, but it has been frustrating.

@DDD - I have the same trouble, I haven't been going there lately because i'm tired of waiting!

I avoid the E site as much as possible for the same reasons. Its too much junk, too hard to navigate.

totally sounds like Applegate and Will Arnett (the "truck driver at heart" clue gives it away, referencing Kelly Bundy)

Before I even came on the board and saw the guesses I thought this was MJH and Joey L. I always thought it strange that the supposed Ms. Goodie 2 shoes, MJH, hung out with Britney Spears at one point. MJH was even in one of Britt's videos. Made me think that MJH couldn't be all that nice, even then. MJH and Joey L have known eachother professionally and non pro for years so it makes a lot of sense.

Today Ted pretty much said it was a blonde and that there was a nostalgia factor. MJH and Christina Applegate both fit that. MJH had Clarissa Explains it All and Sabrina. Christina of course had Married... With Children.

Megley said...

Blurry: first-season shows can be renewed after a few episodes, if it looks like a hit, just like they can be cancelled after a single episode, if it stinks.
I on board with Melissa and Joey.

"Dear Ted:
I'm dying, dying, dying for a clue on who Trixie Twinkle-Twat is. She sounds so fabulously bitchy!
—EK

Dear And She Is:
I think it's just the golden locks that throws you off. Oh, and the nostalgia factor."

blurry vice said...

yes gold locks and nostalgia point to our 2 top guesses - Christina Applegate and Melissa Joan Hart. I'm leaning more towards MJH.

BROOKE said...

Yes they both fit, but would it be that surprising and vice worthy to find out that CA is bitchy and doesn't like her co-star? It wouldn't be that shocking IMO, but MJH on the other hand who has portrayed herself as a "good girl" all these years, well now that would be a bit more shocking. Just my opinion though...

Lyn said...

Yeah, Christina Applegate's never gone for the "wholesome" thing, has she? Unlike Ms. Teenage Witch herself...plus the ABC Family hint. I'm liking MJH and Joey Lawrence for this one!

Whitney said...

What about Tori & Dean? She has been in movies and tv, specifically the original 90210. She has very "golden locks." Her family show depends on her and Dean being together. And, she is the daughter of Candy and Aaron Spelling, causing big money/jealousy reports...goes along with Ted's "green" clue.

"Dear Ted:
Has Vander Van Der Butt done anything to earn the ire of his costar Trixie Twinkle-Twat, or is she just jealous that Hollywood loves him more than it does her?
—Mike

Dear Butt-ing In:
Trix is green with envy of anyone who might try to steal her limelight, which Vander is doing, BTW. And trust me, green is so not TTT's color."

Does anyone remember when MJH did a mag cover showing her new bikini body? The fact that she might bumped by Farrah Fawcett's farewell cover? She made an extremely insensitive and hateful comment about Farrah.. I remember she had to eat her words and try to spin it in a way that was less than convincing. I'm thinking she's quite a bitch behind the scenes. Found this one celebitchy.com:

MELISSA Joan Hart should learn to keep her voice down. The former “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star was overheard off-camera at KTLA in Los Angeles on Friday saying how she’d been hoping last week that cancer-stricken Farrah Fawcett wouldn’t die — and thus bump Hart off the cover of People magazine. Hart is on this week’s cover posing in a bikini after recently losing 42 pounds. Hart appeared on KTLA to promote her new ice cream and candy store.
