When describing the ad, Diddy offered these enlightening words:
"When you see Barack Obama,you see a strong, elegant black man and when people see my ad, it's almost like that's the trend.”

Barack Obama wouldn’t tell people not to make eye contact. Barack Obama wouldn’t tell hotel staff to kowtow in his presence and be honoured to breathe his air. Barack Obama wouldn’t make a 100 people wait during what was promised to be a live interactive interview and cancel at the last minute for no reason.
But Diddy would. And Diddy did.

She revealed this before when she was talking about the picture with his twins where they are naked (a bit controversial, I guess) and she made the comment about whether his kids are allowed to look him in the eyes.
I usually never comment but I had to say that the nastiness really just shows the lack of understanding of the black community and the double standards. While I agree that Diddy is arrogant it is understood that he would not have been able to achieve what he has now w/out it. Until Sean John NO other black urban designer obtained his level of success. Phat Farm was close but Sean John crossed over better.

Got nothin to do with double standards. Black, white, red, green, fuscia - Diddy is a pr!ck. His attitude is disgusting and separating the man from his art/craft I'd give his clothes and music much higher marks than him as a person. You can defend him by saying it's a persona, but that's his choice to be known to his public by that persona. He wants the success that supposedly comes from his actions so he'll have to take the criticism - no excuses allowed.
Posts like this are why I love Lainey. Now if only the more mainstream media would speak up like this and say what we are all really thinking. Diddy is a self-delusional egotistical psycho. He has delusions of grandeur.
I wish I could be working in a hotel when he comes in. It would be worth losing my job to tell the idiot what we all really think of him.
Again, I say double standards. At least he isn't pretending to speak with a British accent and making ridulous list for his children's mother to follow.
And I am wishing for you to have the opportunity to get fired just because of what a celebrity blogger says. He was very gracious to this old lady when I had the opportunity to meet him in Harlem 9 years ago. Maybe he is only nasty to those who wear their contempt on their faces.

Again no double standard. Anyone acts like he does in public and he would get tagged an ahole. You're right, we don't know how he is in his private life. But in public - tv, interviews, appearances, etc - he's an egotistical ahole. Not based on any third party hearsay - straight up first accounts of what I've seen and heard him do and say. He chooses to portray that persona so don't defend it. He puts himself in the media spotlight all on his own through his many projects and I have never seen him gracious or modest. P Diddy isn't capable of that. Sean Combs maybe but P Diddy never. You may have experienced Sean Combs but the rest of the world without a personal encounter has seen P Diddy and he's a 100% certified pr!ck.
All I can say is "Thank you, Lainey!" Maybe Ted could realize that Christmas is coming and his readers would like some gifts, too!
Joy- please stop acting outraged just because Diddy is black. As many other people have mentioned; he is one of the most pretentious, arrogant a-holes out there. I don't care what color his skin is. He has a personal umbrella handler! Ridiculous! And-there ARE NO DOUBLE STANDARDS. You obviously don't read Lainey OR Ted because Madonna is vilified in these columns much more often. It's equal opportunity celeb-bashing-if you don't like it don't read it.
