One more couple to mourn - 8/29/12
Nothing to laugh about here -- this one we will all be sad about. All of us. Because it’s almost over for them. After rising together and stabilising together and conveniently finding a home together, where you’d think work would be so much easier, and having the babies too, they’re close to formally ending it, and there may be an announcement soon...which, well, if you look at him it doesn’t seem to have affected him physically. Everyone says he really cares about his appearance these days, more than ever, and is looking hotter than ever. Or, as one person put it, “hot all of a sudden”. Emotionally too he hasn’t let on that there’s anything wrong. For what it’s worth, I’m told there was no third party involvement. Perhaps that means it’s amicable, just the end of their story. Perhaps we’ll be more choked about it than they are. As I drench my waffles in more maple syrup.

I'm thinking a comedic couple-off the top of my head maybe Amy Poehler/Will Arnett? Hope not I really like them.
I'm going to guess James McavoyA and Anne Marie Duff, only because I know that would sadden Laney (and me!) big time. I think she's been commenting on his hotness lately, too...
Okay, the waffles comment couldn't have been completely random, right? Maple syrup... possibly a Canadian couple?
And Ms. Valerie, I'd have to argue against James McAvoy only because he's always been hot! :)
Anyone remember if Lainey's mentioned anyone becoming "hot all of a sudden"? Other than the actor who plays Neville in HP (whom I believe to be single anyhow and far too young for kidlets) I can't recall anyone else...
Hope it's not gwen stefani, Jen garner or gwyneth Paltrow... I get the feeling it is someone really famous.
What about Matt Damon and luciana? She mentioned their move to la recently

That maple syrup comment seems too out of place to not mean something.....must be Canadians - but who???
I feel like the maple syrup comment is a Canadian note. Will Arnett is Canadian - from Toronto, I think.

i immediately thought of amy and will... and the "nothing to laugh about" and waffles comment made me think of them: both comedians and Amy's character on parks and rec loves waffles.
I thought it was weird that his character on his new show plays hockey, so I googled it. Only Canadians write their characters as playing hockey on the side :)
OMG @Lazy! Between you and @debbie, I think you've (sadly) got it!! Totally forgot about Amy's waffle love on P and R! Waffles + Maple Syrup = Amy and Will. Darn. Will IS hot, though. And just in time for the Arrested Development continuation (can't wait!!).

Lainey's a notable hockey fan and the waffles mention is a dig at the Toronto Maple Leafs (which is Will Arnett's home team). Fans were throwing waffles on the ice to show their frustration with the team never making the playoffs or choking once they got there:

When I read the first few sentences, Amy and Will were the first couple to come to mind. Unfortunately, the last sentence cinched it for me.
i forgot what article i read, but will and amy definitely rose to stardom together. i believe amy was still doing standup and improv and will hadn't even done any comedy yet.
If it is not meant to be than it is not meant to be.
Hope they break up mutually and reminds friends. Sake of their kids.
I wish I wasn't thinking this, but someone who seems to fit all the clues would be Michael J. Fox/Tracy Pollan. He's Canadian, a comedian, looked surprisingly good at the Olympics, has been with her since near the beginning, has kids, there was a mention about the breakup not seeming to affect him physically (an odd thing to say), and it will break everyone's heart.
I'm rooting against myself here and hoping I'm wrong. I don't think Fox's kids are babies anymore, so I hope Lainey is speaking literally and not figuratively...
I popped over here as soon as I saw Lainey's riddle and it looks like you all thought the same as me.... :( First thought was Will Arnett and Amy Poehler. Lainey's right. I probably will be more sad than they are about it.
I ran into Will Arnett at a bakery last month and my first reaction was "when did he get so hot!?!" . He looked really good...tanned and toned. Lainey's mention about "hot all of sudden" made me think of Will Arnett immediately. Then the other clues seem to fit "waffles, nothing to laugh about, babies. rised together". Also finding a home together .. For a while they both lived in opposite coasts while working. ;(
This blind hasn't even confirmed and I'm sooo sad about it already.

Sadly, I agree it is likely Will and Amy. To add to all the comments here, Amy has been quoted as saying she initially met Will just as he was coming out of his "drinking period." He himself has acknowledged that he is a recovering alcoholic...
So not only did their careers take off together, the marriage helped them "stabilize" together emotionally.
Love them both, they're so talented...

I'm sorry I'm on my cell w bad reception, so I'm going based on memory.....
MBC, she is referring to the "not a doting mother" blind already revealed to be Heidi Klum. As well as ignoring her kids, she also treats her employees badly. Apart from her bodyguard who rubs her feet (amongst other things!)

I don't know, I thought that picture was pretty germane to the question Sasha was answering about dating short men, since he's noticeably shorter than his wife. Plus that was from yesterday, not today.
Lainey said we'd know the answer to a blind riddle today. I assumed she meant this one, because she said we'd be sad. I haven't seen anything break today that's obviously related to any of Lainey's blind riddles, though.
I was expecting for an additional story on the boards today.
Lainey's hint that we'll know the answer kind of inferred for an additional revealing story to come; I did not take it to mean that the answer could be within the Smutty Tingles links.
All very perplexing. Maybe whomever are divorcing were supposed to release something today, but had changed their minds.
I didn't take it to mean the reveal would be in Smutty Tingles either - I thought she meant a celebrity's publicist would be releasing a statement to entertainment news outlets later in the day. But I kept checking TMZ and People all evening and didn't see any big stories that could conceivably be related to a Lainey blind riddle.
I know! All signs point to Poehler/ Arnett and was anxiously checking all day yesterday after she posted that. Nothing yet. I wonder if they decided to do the Friday 5:00pm bury she's spoken about?

Sisters, Lainey posted a few very brief blinds in her Oct 11th Shout out if you want to post: have been holding back a story about a sexy older movie actor who’s running out of money and has been offered a tv series several times but he thinks it’s beneath him. And there’s one about a girl who got married but disinvited a friend, also former colleague, from her wedding because the friend hooked up with her ex. And one of my favourite stories is about how one of the most powerful, acclaimed actors in the business hates his younger counterpart, even though he chose him to be in his movie, because the younger one is way too arrogant and precious about his talent. Senior refers to him as “the kid who isn’t American but somehow talks like DeNiro 1976 -- f-ck him”. That cracks me up.
God I miss Ted.
Ugh. I miss him too! Now I have to actually work when I'm at work because I don't have blinds to distract me. I don't appreciate being forced into efficiency!
I'm thinking of George Clooney and Ryan Gosling for the last one.
I wonder what Ted is doing? Does he have something in the pipeline? He must do, surely? I hope so.
