Skeeve in real life too
Theirs is known as one of the most solid show business marriages. Both of them are talented. Both of them work steadily. Both are well-respected. Both can be rather high-brow though they’ve tried at blockbusters and secretly aspire to big movie status without the big movie star lifestyle though, seeing as they do try to live under the radar. Which works for him because he steps out on her all the time. Sometimes it’s with civilians. One time it was with a young actress with mesmerising eyes and the hair of an angel. It was dirty and undercover, just like their subject matter.
So when you see him in movies, and he always plays the skeevy older creep? It’s not exactly a stretch.

DeleteI really DON'T want this to be Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgweick but for some reason they seem to jump out for me on this one. They have a very solid marriage, live under the radar quite a bit and aren't blockbuster movie stars. He does often play creepy guys too. (I also thought of Javier and Penelope but they are HUGE movie stars so I'm thinking it's not them)

ReplyDeleteI agree with Gyllenhaal/Skarsgaard. Skarsgaard was called out on the site as really good at playing creeps/pervs (Lovelace review). Possible stretch, but I think angel hair = Farrah Fawcett haircut, which points to Skarsgaard's former costars Mena Suvari or Dakota Fanning. I'm inclined to say Dakota Fanning for the young actress, because their movie together (Night Moves) fits the hint better and the post where she has Charlie's Angels hair focuses in on her eye makeup (Runaway Eyes). If it is Dakota Fanning, she would have been 19 or so ...ick.
ReplyDeleteI think the key is finding out which film the Actor and the younger actress with "hair like an angel" were in- what movies have come out not too long ago with an older man playing a creep, a younger actress with aforementioned angel hair, and the older Actor is happily married to an Actress closer to his age?

ReplyDeleteI vote for Skarsgaard/Gyllenhaal. That was the first couple that I thought of right away. I think the Angel hair woman might be Amanda Seyfreid. Big blue eyes and blonde "angel" hair. And they were in "Lovelace" together. Goes with her comment that the subject matter was "was dirty and undercover".
ReplyDeleteI agree with KGB_Girl. The first person I thought of for the girl with hair like an angel and mesmerising eyes was Amanda Seyfried. So definitely has to be Sarsgaard and Gyllenhal. Especially because of the subject matter for the movie they were filming - has to be Lovelace.

ReplyDeleteBen Afleck! The young actress has got to be Emily Ratajkowski. In Gone girl their characters were having an affair, dirty and undercover. AND she was a Victoria secret model, hair of an angel.
ReplyDeleteI think Sarsgaard/Gyllenhaal is a better guess than Affleck/Garner because of the "they try to live under the radar" / "big movie life without the lifestyle" clues. Affleck and Garner are definitely not under the radar but Gyllenhaal/Sarsgaard are. And Sarsgaard does play a great skeeve!

ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm still looking at the Jennifer Connelly/Paul Bettany guess; It's a very interesting guess, for Lainey had alluded not long ago at how pervy Bettany has been looking lately (I remember the picture, he was wearing a sort of College professor attire and looked... icky), and both he and his wife have tried for a bigger Hollywood career, but try so hard to look unimpressed with the it all.
Torn between two guesses, both could fit:
ReplyDeleteMaggie Gyllenhaal / Peter Sarsgaard - with him cheating with either (or both of?) Dakota Fanning and Amanda Seyfried. Both Dakota or Amanda would fit looks-wise and the movies they were in fit too. Both Maggie and Peter have tried their hand at blockbusters - for her, there was Batman and White House Down, and he was in Green Lantern.
Naomi Watts / Liev Schreiber - he was in X-Men: Wolverine, Salt and The Butler and she's in the Divergent series and was in King Kong and the Ring. He has played some skeevy older man characters (The Perfect Man, Fading Gigolo), but I'm not sure who is co-star would be that he cheated with.
Leaning towards Maggie and Peter.
Amanda Seyfried and Kevin Bacon. She has the hair of an angel and the eyes going for her. He's is in, what's considered the best hollywood marriage. He also has played a lot of creepy roles. I also do like the Jennifer Connelly/Paul Bettany guess. I like that one too...though Jennifer doesn't really come across as high-browed. I actually worked once w/ Kyra S and she's an absolute Biatch. Not nice at all and thought she was above everyone.

ReplyDeleteKelly Reichardt (director of Night Moves, which starred Peter Sarsgaard and Dakota Fanning, along with Jesse Eisenberg) just got a shout-out in the post about Woody Allen being a super creep. Possible suggestion that Eisenberg often works with "famed creepy people." Gyllenhaal/Sarsgaard w/ Dakota Fanning is how I'm leaning.

ReplyDeleteThis is definitely Gyllenhaal/Sarsgaard and Dakota Fanning. "Mesmerizing eyes and angel hair" refers to her eyes in Twilight and her hair in that movie with Kristen Stewart. The "subject matter" of Night Moves is done undercover at night, which goes with the riddle perfectly.

The problem is, though, that Amanda Seifreyd or however you spell her name is not that young compared to Peter Skarsgard and Maggie. Amanda is, what, 8 years younger than Maggie? That would not be that skeevy .. just your regular cheating skeevy.

The Director: Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu
The Actor: Tom Hardy (or Leonardo DiCaprio). I couldn't find anything about a physical ailment for either of them, so my money's on Hardy. He sure looks capable of throwing one punch that would knock someone out.
The Movie: The Renevant
I don't know anything about Innaritu's personal life or personality and normally I'd think David Fincher for something like this because he's a known .... you know to be difficult, but all of the hints about "hardware" and "big ego recently made bigger" indicate that this director just won some big accolades...I'm guessing an Oscar, and Innaritu just took home the gold for best director and best picture for Birdman.
He's currently filming The Renevant in Canada starring Leonadro DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, and the reports are that it's an excruciating, painstakingly slow shoot.
Lainey also had a previous blind about Tom Hardy on the set of The Renevant ("On Location Influences"), so I think she has an informant on the set there.

So not a trailer, but a tent. The Renevant is filming in the woods of Canada, so it would make sense that they'd all be in tents instead of trailers. Go Tom Hardy! I feel bad approving of punching someone but it sounds like it was constructive criticism in this case.
